Review by Renee Hollifield

Marie Michailowa's latest album, Perle Du Bresil Charmant Oiseau, is a delightful collection of songs that showcases her incredible vocal range and versatility as a musician. From the opening track, "Charmant Oiseau," to the final notes of "L'oiseau bleu," Michailowa's voice soars effortlessly across a range of styles, from classical to jazz to traditional Brazilian music.

The album's title track, "Perle Du Bresil," is a standout, with Michailowa's voice weaving in and out of a complex melody that is both haunting and beautiful. "Saudade" is another highlight, with Michailowa's voice perfectly capturing the melancholy of the song's lyrics.

Throughout the album, Michailowa is backed by a talented group of musicians, including guitarist Carlos Barbosa-Lima and percussionist Cyro Baptista, who provide a rich, textured backdrop for her vocals. The arrangements are intricate and layered, with each instrument adding depth and complexity to the music.
