Sometimes the impact of a first album shadows the quality of subsequent albums. I think that this is the issue with Down the Road. It's still a very good offering.

I don't know who that clown from Allmusic is who rips this album in his review, but evidently, he either doesn't know good music or he never gave this album a listen.

Granted, "Down the Road" can't compare with their first album, but it's still a very good album. I love the way Stills throws two latin inflected jam tunes into the mix of "hard country rock"!

Manassas, man what a band, their first album being a double was brilliant. Down the Road, is good but lacks material and diversity as the first. Cherish both as that's all there is.
